Dress It Up With Sneakers

Why didn’t we ever think of it before?

Who’s noticed this trend of wearing your party dress with luxe sneakers is going particularly wild? And really, why didn’t we ever think of it before? You’re all dressed up in your sequined, backless LBD or even a casual boho shirt dress and you pair it with comfy, but embellished, statement sneakers with a platform heel, and you’re good to go – it’s perfect! Now, the next time you go partying, you’ll never have to make that painful decision of heels or flats – just put on your party sneakers with a dress and your night’s already made!

Here are some looks we totally love! Get inspired, you guys, then check out our fave sneaker picks!

Booties For The Sole

Boots are always timeless, trend or no trend. And we have many reasons to validate our love (you could always wear them on a white holiday right?) – they’re warm, comfy and work to create a bunch of starkly different looks – the cutesy one when worn with skirts/dresses/trench coats of various lengths, a badass getup when it’s all black, all leather, full grunge when the boots are fringed, and super chic when your skinnies/leggings are tucked in.

If you’re a new member of the bandwagon, start by investing in a pair that’s neutral-coloured, in a durable material like suede/faux leather and decide whether you’d have more use for a flat-soled one over a heeled version.

3 Easy Trends Courtesy Alia Bhatt in Dear Zindagi

If you’re a boho girl at heart or even if you just love easy dressing, Alia Bhat’s look from Dear Zindagi definitely made your heart go aflutter. Stylist Anaita Shroff Adajania brought her A-game to the movies once again with the pretty boho prints and kitschy florals, and if you haven’t watched the film yet, we bet you’ll love Alia’s style – especially if you have a Goa trip planned soon!

We rounded up 3 easy ways to dress like the independent, simple and free-spirited Kaira!

Trick 1: Happy Hippie

Alia’s look is all about fun, pastel coloured boho prints. Try camis, strappy dresses, kurtis in blues and pinks.

Trick 2: Light Layering

Says Anaita to Elle, “Throw a kimono jacket over your shorts or an open shirt over a printed cami to look stylish while you are on the move. Alia’s printed Free People jacket works brilliantly with a slogan tee from Pull & Bear.” Easy enough.

Trick 3: Dress Distress

Whether it’s her heavily distressed pair of light blue jeans, her exposed- pocket denim shorts or the pink billowy cold shoulder top, to dress like Kaira means to pick out the most laidback pieces in your wardrobe and wear them with white sneakers!

3 Fashion-Forward Trends To Try This Party Month!

It’s finally December and we’re feeling festive! Christmas cheer is in the air and new year plans are only escalating. Soon, the parties and get together will begin and it won’t be too long until you find yourself saying, I have nothing to wear!

Let’s get that out of the way shall we? We picked 5 of the most popular, fashion-forward trends you can try this month, and that you can shop immediately! Just click on the images to shop.

1.     Cape Culture

It doesn’t matter whether it’s an ethnic ensemble or a super modern one, capes are everything right now! They instantly take the outfit from drab to fab, and also help cover flabby arms if that’s a problem. No better way to add a touch of drama to your look, without really doing much.

2.     The GownDown

Everyone does LBDs and high octane party dresses in December, but how about trying something more elegant and sophisticated that will make you feel like a million-dollar celebrity on a red carpet? Gowns! Whether a simple, flowy one for the day or an amped up, embellished one for the night, gowns are timeless.

3.     Contemporary Queen

You might have your outfits ready for all those parties lined up this month, but it’s accessories that truly change your style game. This season, pick classic, contemporary pieces that are versatile enough to pair with ethnic or western looks. Sexy hand harnesses and cool double rings, anyone?
