Best of New York Fashion Week, Spring/Summer 2017

In its wake, NYFW Spring/Summer '17 kicked off a month of drool-worthy catwalk candy that'll set up shop in London, Milan and Paris soon.

Okay, so we're still technically in fall, but that doesn't mean we can't start prepping for summer next year, does it? I mean, we all love summer! Besides, with some designers bringing out their collections on the day of the show, hello Wang, Hilfiger & Ford, we're not short of stock for this fall as well. Win-win!

Below we rounded up the best shows from the 8-day glitzy affair known as NYFW!

1. Tanya Taylor

Delightful ruffles, tassels, fringe, embroidery and sequins, and best of all, abstract floral embellishments made the designer's collection a happy treat to the eyes. All that was missing was the rosé.

2. Charles Youssef

Satin, sheer and the softest pastels every - Youssef's collection was elegant, easy and light, yet packs in a punch with some metallic detailing.

3. Prabal Gurung

One sweeping look at Gurung's collection, and it will at once remind you of delicate soufflés in all shades of yellow from lemon to canary, and flambés in flaming tangerine. Slinky, sheer, feminine dresses of all lengths in here!

4. Alexander Wang

Wang not only seated the hottest stars in the frows - hello Madonna & Kylie Jenner, the hottest models on ramp - Kendall Jenner, Binx Walton, Anna Ewers, but also the coolest clothes on display: refreshing takes on shirting, moving into lacy, silky loungewear, heading into printed beach wear, and finally ending in evening wear with skirts and gowns. It was a well rounded collection in all.

5. Tommy Hilfiger

As far as show themes go, Tommy Hilfiger is a master of them all - he nailed constructing a cruise ship and an island getaway in the past, and this time he converted the entirety of South Street Seaport's Pier 16 into "Tommy's Pier," complete with carnival food and rides, and attractions like a ferris wheel, burger stand, vinyl record store, and boxing ring, that kept guests in great spirits before and after.

The clothes themselves - some of which he co designed with muse Gigi Hadid - were super fun: oversized sweatshirts dresses and of course, classic American sportswear true to the brand. They were both playful, and totally wearable.

6. Yeezy

5-hour long show, controversial casting call and fainting models aside, the clothes at Yeezy's show were exactly what you'd expect from Kanye: solid neutras, oversized hoodies, and tons of body suits, dresses and thigh highs in earthy tones. Definitely a headlining affair.
