Aishwarya Rai- Bold or Overboard?

Aishwarya Rai either awed the audience with her dresses and make-up or startled them completely. The media was blown away by the grace the 42-year-old actress displayed in her gorgeous outfits on the red carpet of Cannes Film Fest, 2016. However, what caught everyone's attention was her bold make-up choices. While some applauded her for the unconventional choices, the others severely criticized her for going overboard.

Aishwarya Rai's embellished golden gown by Ali Younes and blue eye make-up drew mixed feelings. The gown flaunted a matching cape and she looked stunning in the dazzling dress. The eyes did disappoint some of us, since we expected her to do smoky eyes in neutral colors.

Aishwarya Rai was at her sizzling best in a blush pink beaded gown by Elie Saab. She paired the gown with rose gold jewellery from Boucheron, Ferragamo shoes and a Pure Brick lip shade from the L’Oréal Paris Pure Reds collection. We wished to see a different hairstyle than a classic Hollywood hairdo.

For the press interaction, Aishwarya went all bold with red. She looked ravishing in the gown designed by Naeem Khan. The gown had fringed bodice, a sheer neck with a full-length tulle skirt. She had perfectly winged eyeliner and used the shade of L'Oréal Paris Infallible Lipstick- Red Fatale.

The actress looked regal in the golden-brown floor length gown designed by Rohit Bal, at the screening and press conference of Sarbjit. She paired the heavily embellished bandhgala jacket  with a neckpiece by Deepa Gurnani and shoes from Nicholas Kirkwood. She kept the make-up neutral with smoky grey eyes and nude lips.

Let's move on to Aishwarya's most controversial look from the red carpet- the LILAC lips! Twitter overflowed with hateful comments on the "mismatched make-up" look- brown eyeshadow and lilac matte lipstick. A little research suggests that the lipstick is called Deep Fuchsia. We believe a different shade of purple would have gone well with the bardot Rami Kadi piece. We really did not want to see the pastel one!
