The first day of Lakmé Fashion Week Summer/Resort ’16 just went by, and as expected, the shows brought to light the creative genius of fresh, up and coming talent along with some old favourites. Here were our fave designers that showcased on the runways:
Sohaya, Aqdus, Chirag Nainani
Fresh new talent was ripe to pick on the runways this time - Sohaya Misra played around with giant collars and asymmetrical silhouettes in earthy tones, Aqdus Saleem's turbaned models exuded Middle Eastern glamour, and Chirag Chainani experimented with an indigenous aesthetic in indigo/white hues.
Frou Frou by Archana Rao took a charmingly feminine route with slip dresses and skirts in pastel colours and oversized lacy frills.
Yogesh Chaudhary's ethnic collection of draped saris, skirts and palazzos dazzled with foiled embroidery.
Light, and mostly nude and pastel, Sneha Arora's breezy line looked delicious for the Indian summer.
Using elaborate techniques like 3D hand-cut embroidery and marble cut-work appliqué, Kochhars modern silhouettes stood out on stage.
